Loss: Plumbing System Spillage and Mold Growth

Rolyn’s emergency response team responded to an apartment complex damaged by spillage from the plumbing system. The backup from the pipes was classified as black water due to the presence of sewage and other contaminants. Black water is highly unsanitary and can cause serious illness. Rolyn began by clearing the waste and draining the pipes. A sewer line imaging camera revealed that the waste pipes on the first floor had deteriorated due to age.

The emergency crew performed a rapid clean up and decontamination of the affected property. During the clean up, significant mold growth was discovered. Rolyn’s mold restoration technicians were summoned to the project to handle the demolition and remediation. Due to the severity of the mold growth, affected units had to be entirely gutted. Once the demolition and clean up was complete, Rolyn coordinated with the property owner’s hygienist who deemed the property free of contaminants.

A complete scope of reconstruction work was then developed between Rolyn’s estimators and the property representatives. Forty-one apartment units were fully renovated and reconstructed over a six-month period.

We recently placed several of our (apartment) communities up for sale and we needed some immediate spruce up work done. The hardest job was scrubbing down 40 years of grime from the boiler rooms and painting them. This was not an ordinary job, but Rolyn came through and the boiler rooms looked great."
